The Case for Comestock
How could the president save countless innocent lives with a stroke of his pen?

On March 3rd 1873 the Comstock Act was signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant. This Law made the distribution by mail of “obscene” or “indecent” materials including pornography and contraceptives illegal. Much more importantly, however, the Comstock Act banned the mailing of “any article, instrument substance, drug, or item designed, adapted or intended for procuring an abortion.” And until the biggest legal travesty in American history, Roe v. Wade, in 1973, The Comstock Act was enforced by the executive branch as required by the U.S. Constitution. “-he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” However, during the years of Roe this law was not enforced at all, as it would be in violation of the (non-existent) right to abortion in the constitution.
On June 14, 2022, the US Supreme count voted 6-3 in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organisation Case, to overturn Roe. This corrected their previous wrong and allowed states to decide their own law surrounding abortion, as well as confirming the obvious fact that the constitution does not protect a “right to abortion”. This was one of the happiest days in the history of the American Pro-Life movement, as on the same day, there were 13 states which already had “trigger laws” in place in anticipation of Roe’s reversal, which went into immediate effect. Since then Activism Organisations such as Students For Life Action, have been actively fighting in state Legislatures to put in place laws to protect unborn babies.
When Roe was overturned, Joe Biden was the president, and therefore responsible for enforcing the laws of the United States, unsurprisingly, however, he failed to enforce a law which would have protected the most vulnerable Americans from harm when his DoJ released an official statement announcing their refusal to enforce the Comstock Act. The Comstock Act as it is written in United States Law would ban Abortion Pill distribution by mail, as well as banning the mailing of pornography and contraceptives. Stopping abortion by mail has the possibility of saving countless lives. For context, about 63% of all abortion (that are recorded) in the United States are done through the highly dangerous and unpredictable Abortion Pills, mifepristone, and misoprostol (used to first stare the defenseless infant of all their nutrients, and then expel their dead body). This accounts for around 646,188 abortions per year. So many precious babies made in the image of God that could have been saved. In January, 2023 a group of around 40 Republican Congressmen wrote to the Biden DoJ, urging them to enforce the Comstock Act, the signatories of that letter included some key influential figures and allies of President Trump today, including, J.D. Vance, the now Vice President, Marco Rubio, the now Secretary of state, Mike Johnson, the now Speaker of the House, and Jim Jordan, the chairman of the committee on the Judiciary.
Given that the new President who calls himself the “most Pro-Life president ever” and seems to have surrounded himself with a big group of pro-Comstock Politicians, the only natural assumption would be that President Trump would fulfill what is required of him by the constitution and enforce the Comstock Act. However, this is not the case, American Women are still being lied to, used, and abused by the Pharmaceutical companies supplying the abortion pill, unborn children and still being starved to death in the thousands daily, and abusive partners are still poisoning their pregnant spouses with mifepristone without their knowledge. None of this makes America Great Again, None of this Helps society. And absolutely none of this is what God wants.
President Trump Has the Power to Stop It and is choosing not to. We have a moral obligation to stand up for the unborn, so I would encourage you to call The White House at (202) 456-1111 and demand President Trump Enforce the Comstock Act.
